    Splashin' Fun at Gulf Islands Waterpark


    Join us at Gulf Islands Waterpark for wild rides, miles of slides and cool summer fun for all ages!  Once your day ticket is purchased, you can pay $25 more at the park gift shop with your ticket stub and receive a season pass.  Concession stands are available inside the waterpark.

    *Training dates were changed to accommodate school schedules.

    Counselor-in-Training is a leadership course open to girls who are interested in preparing for a position on a camp staff, learning job skills and having the best time of their lives! This two year program gives girls the opportunity to develop their camp skills, learn leadership techniques, and explore counselor responsibilities and camp operations. You will learn how to help Susie through her homesickness, work with a unit of Juniors, find Sophie’s lost sock and get a unit of sixteen Brownies to remember their water bottles for the hike, all while everyone (including you) has fun!

    Participants will participate in a one day session on May 13 at Camp Wahi and 8 hours of online line webinars prior to staff training. Staff training will include CITs and will be held May 29-June 4 at Camp Iti Kana. CITs will then return to camp for a practice session. Attendance at all training sessions is mandatory. 


    Fee: $400.00

    Small Craft Training

    Earn the certification that you need to take your troop/group canoeing. You need to be a good swimmer and to be comfortable in a canoe/kayak and in lake water. This course requires on-line prerequisite course work. Please print and bring with you the online certificates as proof of completion. Once you are registered, we will send you the link for the online course work.  You should bring a swimsuit, towel, sunscreen, water shoes or old tennis shoes that can get wet and a sack lunch.  This training is for adults and girls 15 years and over.

    You will spend your days developing leadership skills while working with younger girls in units, leading songs and games, helping with cookouts. Join us for a one day general training session May 13 at Camp Wahi, then participate in the first Troop camp June 2-4th at Camp Iti Kana for your first hands-on training experience.  Camp Aides will select their return practice session (included in the training fee) at the time of registration.  Attendance at all training sessions is mandatory.  Completion of this course will enable you to apply to help out with council events during the school year and in future summers.


    Fee: $120.00

    Gold Award Training Session

    Senior and Ambassador Girl Scouts, come discover what the highest award in Girl Scouting is all about. Attend this meeting to ask questions, see past projects, and get the guidelines for earning the Gold Award. Troop leaders, parents, and advisers are also encouraged to attend. For any Girl Scout wanting to pursue their Gold Award, it is mandatory that you take the Gold Award training.

    Are you crazy about horses?  From riding to horse care, this camp has a little something for everyone.  Learn some real cowgirl dances, cook your meal over an open fire, learn cowgirl songs, a much more!

    Lifeguard Training

    This training is for adults and girls at least 17 years old to earn the certification needed to take your troop/group swimming.  The class will run from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day or longer as needed and there is generally study work to be completed at night.

    The curriculum consists of a minimum of 32 hours of instruction.  All classroom and pool sessions are mandatory.  Any missed instruction may negate certification.   There will be a swimming skills test the first day of class.  Before beginning the Lifeguard or Lifeguard re-certification course, you must be able to do the following:

    • Swim 300 yards continuously, demonstrating the freestyle and breaststroke.
    • Swim 20 yards, retrieving  a 10 lb. weight from 7-13 feet of water, hold the object while swimming back to the starting point, and exit the pool without using any ladder or steps.  This must be accomplished within one minute and forty seconds.
    • Tread water for 2 minutes without using your arms.

    You should bring a swimsuit, water bottle, towel, change of clothes, water shoes or old tennis shoes that can get wet and sunscreen. Accommodations are available for those that would like to stay overnight at camp.  You will also need regular camp gear like: bedding, toiletries, changes of clothes, flashlight, etc. if you are staying overnight at camp.

    Join us for a fun-filled day of camp-related activities including swimming, canoeing, arts and crafts, archery, and games!   You will get to participate in all the wonderful activities that make summer camp our most popular event!  Celebrate your cookie selling skills with a special ice cream sundae party, honoring your achievements!   We can’t wait to see you this summer!

    Cadettes - Ambassadors

    Come join us for a fun-filled weekend at Camp Iti Kana.  You will make your own schedule and do it YOUR WAY!  Activities to choose from will include:  painting, quilting, tie dying, candle making, cake decorating, stain glass creations, knitting, jewelry making, and much, much more.  (A selection form will be emailed with your registration confirmation email along with return instructions.)

    There will be a Mystery Dinner Party on Friday beginning at 7:00 p.m., a Karaoke Night on Saturday beginning at 7:00 p.m., a full breakfast on Sunday and an ice cream sundae bar at closing. (Each attending troop will be responsible for their own breakfast, lunch and snacks on Saturday.)
