    Small Craft Training

    This training is required in order to take your troop canoeing/kayaking.  A certified Red Cross instructor will guide you through this training which includes online learning and in-person learning.  You must know how to swim to take this course.  Please print and bring with you the online certificates as proof of completion. Once you are registered, we will send you the link for the online course work.  You should bring a swimsuit, towel, sunscreen, water shoes or old tennis shoes that can get wet and a sack lunch.  This training is for adults and girls 15 years and over.

                                    Canoe 101

    **This course is a prerequisite for Canoe 202**

    This is a progressive course!  We will start with the basics: how to safely get into a canoe, the proper way to paddle and canoeing/water safety.  Saturday night is an outdoor cooking lesson and on Sunday we will take a trip down Black Creek.

    You must be able to tread water/float for one minute.


    Who:  Junior, Cadette, Senior and Ambassador Scouts

    When:  Friday, October 12th @ 5:00 p.m. to Sunday, October 14th @ 1:00 p.m. 

    Where:  Camp Iti Kana, 11 Camp Iti Kana Road, Wiggins, MS

    Fee:  $55.00 per person (Includes meals, snacks. lodging, patch and canoeing trip)

    Capacity:  Min 8/Max 18 girls (any adult attending must be small craft certified)

    GSGMS Explores Asheville

    Girl Scouts of Greater Mississippi teens are invited to explore the outdoors with fellow sisters in a trip to North Carolina. Girls will embark on tree-top and canopy zip-lining, tackle the white-water rapids of the Nantahala River, and enjoy a day in the Wild West, as they step out of their box and see what wonders they can dive into with their new best friends.

    When: July 18 - 12, 2019 (Leaving the Gulfport Office at 8:00 a.m. on July 8th and returning at 8:00 p.m. on July 12th.)

    Where: Asheville, North Carolina (and Knoxville, Tennessee)

    Cost: $675 (Includes lodging, travel, meals and entry fees).  

    A $50 non-refundable deposit is required within 2 working days of registration. The remaining balance to be paid in 5 installments of $125 due on or before October 15th, January 15th, March 15th, May 15th and June 15th.  There will be NO REFUNDS after March 1, 2019.

    Capacity: Min of 8 girls/Max of 12 girls
